I've gone ahead and made some changes to this template as seen below. Overall, this template looks fairly modern. I would make some changes and use this template to apply to jobs in tech, startup, or creative fields. Lastly, this template has great white space along both sides of the resume. However, I don’t particularly care for the top and bottom margin decor. I would prefer to remove these design elements and use that extra space to talk more about myself. Next, I look at how the sections are positioned on the page. I like that, at first glance, the name, contact, and experience float to the top 1/3 of the page. This is important because it allows recruiters to quickly scan for the most important information.įont used here is called Gill Sans MT. This font style is OK, but not the greatest due to the fact that the letter spacing are inconsistent, which makes texts hard to read in lower-case. Right off the bat, I would recommend changing or removing the “objective” section. This is an extremely outdated practice. I’m sure instead of spending 3 lines to express your interest to get the job and build a career in that chosen field, you can use those lines to talk about something much more interesting.
